A trot round Theatre Square

I popped into the library the other day on a futile mission to obtain a copy of the latest Swindon Heritage magazine as I want to read the spread about Swindon’s marvellous mural man Ken White. Unfortunately I was ahead of myself as they hadn’t got them in yet – so still waiting on that one. So, having a few minutes to kill until it was time for my bus I thought I’d take a few snaps and slap them on here. And here they are. It’s really quite a pleasant little area tucked away there – well except perhaps for the ‘gentleman’s club’ but hey – you can’t have everything eh? The window at No 9 – the Artsite pop-up place is generally worth a peek. The metal butterflies adorning the metal wall on the Artsite workshop are rather nice I think, as is the mural and the pillar. It’s really a shame that the mosaic lady that was sat outside Artiste was vandalized. I do hope she makes a return soon.

First off just a couple of shots of the Town Hall and the Cenotaph:

Hi Angela – Swindon Heritage is available at our stockists from February 28. You can always subscribe online from our website http://www.swindonheritage.com to make sure you get future copies a few days earlier 🙂 Glad you’re so keen to secure a copy!

Hello Frances – yep, I’ll get one soon. TBH I can’t afford the regular subscription – it’s an expense I can’t justify at the moment 😦 So I just buy one here and there if there’s something I particularly want to read about. And in this issue it’s Ken White. I’m a big fan of his and, as you know, I’ve blogged about him before so was keen to read the ‘spread’ in Swindon Heritage.

      Cheers! 🙂
