These are a few of my favourite foods – all enjoyed in Swindon
In no order of preference whatsoever … a selection of my favourite eats and drinks in Swindon. Follow the links to read more about these establishments in other posts I’ve written previously – hover the mouse and you’ll find them.
At U Piri Piri on Havelock Street, one of my favourite coffee pit stops – I do really love their coffee. And the chick peas, and the squid stew, and well, the entire menu really…
Eggelicious run by Ash – in the covered market. The most amazing pan-Asian street food. Just so scrummy, you have to try it!
Chapters coffee bar in the central library – a peaceful and relaxing coffee stop that is well located right by Regent Circus bus stops and only a spit into the town centre plus there’s free WiFi. The coffee ain’t half bad and the barista is friendly. What’s not to like? As well as books and Chapters coffee bar the ground floor of the library is home to Visit Swindon – the tourist information desk – so the perfect opportunity to visit them and see what Swindon-related goodies they have. Also housed there are the ever-so-marvellous Swindon local team who look after the Swindon Flckr collection amongst other things.
The 2Wins at Rodbourne – another Portuguese establishment, this one on Rodbourne Road that has good coffee and lovely home made Portguese cakes – not shown here. I must get a picture of those. It’s dead handy for the Outlet Village, so really if you are heading that way it would be rude not to …
I’ve written about Rangoli before. Their USP is their Michelin star trained Indian chef. I went again last night (Sunday 24th Nov) which happened to be their first anniversary. Delicious food as before and a very quaffable bottle of Indian Sauvignon Blanc. Very refreshing indeed it was. If you haven’t been, do give it a try. My Indian son-in-law loved it and what better recommendation is there than that?
